We came for a wedding at river mills ball room and stayed two nights in a junior suite, on the hottest weekend of 2026. The hotel’s decor is lovely, and the room was lovely too. I was glad there was a fan, and on the second night we asked for another one for the living room so our little girl could stay cool. There was a table, chair and sofa bed in that area, and they brought us bedding for our daughter. The mini bar was a nice extra and very reasonably priced, £1.20 for a Coke can, less than at a shop. The shower was good, and we had fresh towels and dressing gowns. Breakfast was toast, muffins and other things to help yourself to. There’s a small free car park behind the hotel, but spaces are very limited. The towels were the one thing I’d change, they were small and wouldn’t go around me, though in that heat I mostly dried off on my own. There was a payment issue at first, but that was down to booking.com, not the hotel, and it’s now sorted. Please book directly with the hotel instead of using booking.com. There’s also a lovely cafe across the road for a hot breakfast. Ten of us ate for £59 and it was lovely. We’d 100% stay again.

The self-entry system was easy to use, which I appreciated after travelling, and I didn’t need much service. The room was very nice, though I was in ground-floor room 2 right by the road. Traffic was fairly quiet until morning. It’s centrally located in Selby. I’d take a star off for the parking at the back, which felt a little risky near a big factory entrance, with a dimly lit passageway at night.

We’ve stayed twice and this is now our go-to hotel in Selby. Our dog loves it too. The hotel is lovely and spotless, with spacious, comfortable rooms, fridges in the rooms and an exceptional shower. We’ve always been greeted by a friendly face. The new wine bar is a nice place to have a drink.

We’ll be back. It’s great value in the town centre, with welcoming, friendly and helpful staff. The room was immaculate and the bed very comfortable. There’s a really nice pub on the ground floor that also serves as the breakfast room. A well-appointed hotel.

Everything was clean, fresh and modern, and getting into the property was straightforward. Booking was easy too. It was a comfortable, convenient stop for an overnight business trip, and I’d happily stay there again.
