The setting is gorgeous and peaceful, and the hosts were really friendly. It could have been a lot cleaner, though: there was still grease up the walls by the cooker. I wonder if they didn’t clean it properly because we were a working team staying there. Bring food to cook, as Just Eat takes orders and then says it’s too far.

Tucked away in a beautiful spot in the Ettrick valley, this well-equipped house was ideal for a large group or family. I had a great short stay there.

Best Selkirk lodge we’ve stayed in. Once you cross the metal bridge and turn right, you can tell you’re in for a good time. Even the BBQ was so clean when we went to use it, which you don’t often see!

A great hotel in a lovely, picturesque valley. The rooms were clean, the bed was great, and there’s a shared living room where you can watch TV. That’s enough to make you feel at home.
