The staff try their best, but the hotel feels like a budget place charging too much, in my opinion. Inside and out, several areas are deteriorating and need a revamp. There were cobwebs in the room that looked like they'd been there for some time, and the road outside the front is noisy. With the window open at night, I wouldn't get any sleep. The food was overpriced and poor quality: £19 for a few frozen chips, chicken covered in BBQ sauce, and a pot of coleslaw. Given all that, I probably wouldn't stay again.

We got in late, but they still offered us a light meal, and it was very good. Breakfast was freshly cooked and delicious too. The welcome was friendly and helpful, and our room was nice with a very comfortable bed.

A pint in the garden before heading out for the evening was lovely. It's a cosy little pub hotel, with welcoming staff and clean, comfortable rooms. Easy to get to from Kings Lynn by bus.

The resident DJ is the main thing letting the Andel down. The track choices often feel out of step with the crowd, transitions are choppy, and the energy doesn't come together. When people leave the dancefloor or groan at another abrupt change of genre, the music clearly isn't working. A rotating setup with different DJs, or someone more tuned in to the audience, could bring some freshness, suit more tastes and attract new people on different weekends. There's a lot to like here too. The staff at the bar and on the floor are friendly, attentive and happy to help, whether you're ordering drinks, finding a table or having a chat. They keep things running smoothly when it's busy. The venue has plenty of space and a decent layout, and on the right night the atmosphere can be electric. It's handy for locals who want drinks and a dance without going to a bigger city. The Andel in King’s Lynn has the ingredients for a great night out, but the entertainment needs a rethink, starting in the DJ booth. With some fresh talent, it could go from a three-star night to a five-star experience.

We were in King’s Lynn for the first time in 25 years, staying two nights at the Andel Guest House for a friend’s funeral. The quiet spot just outside town suited us well, and we appreciated the well-stocked bar. Our room felt quaint and homely, with a lovely quilt and a really comfortable bed, so we slept very well. The staff made us feel at home from the moment we arrived. Breakfast was first-class and worth the money, especially the delicious Full English. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would certainly come back. Thank you for a wonderful experience!
