The room had lots of thoughtful extras, including hot chocolate, marshmallows, beach towels, and beach toys to borrow whenever needed. Breakfast was fantastic each morning with plenty to choose from, and the location was lovely, right by the beach. My partner and I stayed for three nights and couldn’t have asked for better hosts. We’d definitely recommend the place.

Nigel and Sharon made us feel very welcome and checked that everything was all right. The beds were comfortable, and the room came with tea, coffee and hot chocolate. We appreciated all the little details: the decor, room service, overnight oats at continental breakfast, games in the room, and tourist information flyers. The cooked and continental breakfasts were both delicious. Such a cosy place!

A hot chocolate waiting for us each evening warmed us up after long days of activities, and Sharon kept us informed about the weather, which we appreciated. Nigel and Sharon were so warm towards us, as were their children and dog, Obi. They kept us well fed with delicious dinners and wholesome breakfasts. Be sure to try their Mediterranean rice dish! We were lucky to spend a week at The Royson Guest House on our residential school trip. Thanks for all your kindness. We’re looking forward to coming back next year.

Breakfast was amazing, especially the crepes/pancakes and waffles. There were various cooked breakfast options, plus toast, cereals and other refreshments. Our family room had a beautiful sea view, and the rooms were better than we expected. They had tea and coffee facilities, little treats, a fridge, an iron and ironing board, and clean bathrooms. The hosts also kindly provided bottled water and refilled it when needed. We arrived a little earlier than expected, but the hosts were accommodating and gave us our room keys. They were warm, welcoming, friendly and attentive throughout. The guest house is near Shanklin beach, on a quiet residential street, with parking at the front. There’s a pool table in the breakfast and dining room, plus an adjoining playroom for young people and teens. Beach towels, mats, buckets and spades are available to borrow, a lovely touch. We very much enjoyed staying at Royson Guest House. There’s plenty to do on The Isle of Wight, and Needles is a must visit.

The shower wasn’t very powerful, which was our only issue. Otherwise, we were extremely happy with the stay and would definitely return. The hosts were fantastic, making us feel welcome and sharing lots of useful information. They were always cheery and friendly when we saw them around the property. The rooms and whole place were clean, we loved the decor, and breakfast was tasty with plenty on offer. We’ve just come back from a lovely few days at this little B&B.
