Jill was a superb host, sharing suggestions for places to visit and eat. This lovely B&B is only a five minute walk from Shanklin village. The clean, lovely rooms have tea and coffee making facilities and cookies. From our room we could see donkeys, alpacas and Culver Down, and there’s a large garden with a nice seating area. Breakfast really set us up for the day, with cereal, fruit, yogurt, toast, tea, coffee and a full English. I can’t recommend the Martlets enough. And I must mention Jill’s two gorgeous, well behaved dogs, Jess and Jonty.

Jill had a place where we could keep our bikes overnight, which was handy. The room was clean and comfortable, and the location was quiet above Shanklin while still only five minutes’ walk from town. Breakfast was a 10/10. Perfect stay, couldn’t fault it.

We loved the outdoor seating and pretty garden views, and the breakfast was exceptional. Jill’s wonderful dogs were another highlight. The room and bed were very comfortable, making the B and B perfect for our holiday. Can’t recommend it highly enough.

From arrival through checkout, Jill was very kind. The house and rooms were cosy, clean and tidy, and Jonty&Jess are just adorable dogs 🙂 We enjoyed our stay, and the breakfast was lovely.

The peaceful, beautiful setting makes this our favourite place on the Isle of Wight, even though we’ve been visiting the island for 50 years and stayed at The Winterbourne and Luccombe Hall. It’s also easy to get to all the lovely places around the island. Jill is so welcoming and thoughtful, always going the extra mile and taking care of the little things that make a stay relaxing. Her two well behaved dogs, Jess and Jonty, are delightful company. The breakfasts are superb, and Jill took great care to cater for our daughter’s nut allergy. We’ve just returned from our third four night stay and have already booked for next year. That says it all. Thank you, Jill, Jess and Jonty, for such fantastic stays.
