Dorian House

We stayed in the small double under the roof, and it suited what we needed perfectly. It’s a good spot, about a 10-minute walk from the town centre, and the place was very clean. We hardly saw anyone except at breakfast, where the staff were friendly and the food was good.

Breakfast was a real strength: the service was fantastic and accommodating, and the food was top quality. The sausages and bacon were lovely, and one morning I had eggs benedict cooked beautifully. We spent three nights at the Dorian hotel and had a lovely stay. The staff were willing to help with anything. I’d told them ahead of time that I’m disabled and would need assistance, so they arranged a ground-floor room and a parking space close by. The room was spacious, with a super king bed and a very comfortable mattress. It had an African theme, though the decor looked dated and tired. There was quite a lot of dust, and while the ensuite bathroom was clean, it was dated too. Road noise was more noticeable than I expected at different times of day.

We had a great recent stay, and the room was kindly upgraded when we arrived. The location worked perfectly for exploring Bath and beyond, and included parking was a bonus. Breakfast was great. The only small drawback was that the bed and pillows in room 7 felt a bit uncomfortable. Even so, I’d recommend it for a short city break.

The room was nice, and the staff were friendly. It had a coffee machine, kettle with tea and coffee, and a hairdryer; there was also an iron and ironing board in the corridor for guests. Parking on site is free. We didn’t try breakfast, so I can’t say how it was. Dorian House is around a 15-20 minute walk from Bath Town, or an Uber is about £8 each way. We had a lovely stay and I’d highly recommend it. We’ll definitely be back.
