We stayed at the Havelock in May 2026 and would gladly return. The whole hotel was immaculately clean, and the food, service and surroundings were all great. I’d definitely recommend it to friends or anyone looking to stay in Shanklin.

We’re walkers and have been to the Isle of Wight three times now. Finding the right place to stay matters after a long day on the trails, and The Havelock is just right for us. It’s comfortable, the rooms are beautiful, and everyone is so friendly. Vicky and Paul always make us feel welcome. Thanks to them both.

Breakfast was delicious each morning, a lovely way to get ready for a day exploring the island. Vicky and Paul were warm, friendly hosts who were happy to offer advice when we wanted it. We also appreciated the thoughtful room service: everything was kept spotless, towels were replaced, and the bath sheets and hand towels were a generous size. We spent five nights in a very comfortable, spacious balcony room with plenty of storage. The partial sea view made the extra cost worthwhile, especially for sunrise and sunset. The Havelock is a short walk from Shanklin seafront, and I’d happily recommend it.

The cooked breakfast was excellent, and the waitresses were pleasant and did a great job. Our room had everything we needed and was spotlessly clean. Paul and Vicky were brilliant hosts, friendly and full of local knowledge, and nothing seemed too much trouble. Their three girls were adorable, funny, entertaining and very well behaved. We enjoyed the bar area in the evenings, used the lovely pool several times, and found the private parking very useful. It’s in a great location, and we couldn’t have asked for more on our first stay at The Havelock. We’ll be back. Mark & Jo, 12.08.2025

We paid a little extra for a balcony room, and the sunrise and sunset views were stunning. We spent three nights here and had a wonderful time. The staff were welcoming, polite and efficient, with excellent room service. The pool was just right for swimming lengths, and breakfast came promptly with plenty of choice. The owners were around with their young family. J the inventor gave us a lovely welcome, S the horticulturist was always smiling, and little A made us laugh with her daredevil antics. Shanklin’s amenities are just a short walk away. We’ll definitely return next year, or sooner if I can find the time!
