We had a fantastic stay, with a great atmosphere, lovely rooms and convenient parking. The staff were attentive, friendly and flexible about arranging things for us in the restaurant. I can’t recommend it enough.

It’s a lovely spot to catch up with friends and relax, with a good atmosphere. I’ve stopped in for a beer, or a few, over the years, though I can’t comment on the rooms since I haven’t stayed overnight. Prices seem a little high, but it also doesn’t feel like an estate pub full of unsavoury types 😂

I’d happily stay here again if I’m back in the area, and would recommend it to anyone looking for somewhere nearby. The dinner and breakfast were great, service was very quick, and every staff member I met was friendly and helpful. A week before my overnight visit, I got an email asking about preferences. I requested a bath and that’s what I was given. For the price, I thought it was very good value.

It’s a good place to stop and experience an old pub, especially with the building dating back to the 17th century. The food is decent and honest, though not especially memorable. Children can eat here, but there was no paper or crayons for colouring.

Booking is essential. The restaurant has friendly service, generous portions of excellent food, comfortable seating and pleasant surroundings. There’s also a large free car park in front of the hotel. Highly recommended.
