Iram at the front desk deserves a special mention. She’s always cheerful, welcoming, and very accommodating, and goes out of her way to make guests feel valued and comfortable. The rest of the front desk team are just as friendly, professional, and helpful. That level of service really matters and reflects well on Hampton by Hilton Sheffield. Amazing service, and I’d highly recommend staying here.

I stay in hotels three or four days a week as a Diamond member, and the service here ranks among the best I’ve experienced. I messaged the front desk from the air to say I’d arrive early and hadn’t slept; they rearranged things so I could get into my room by noon. The rooms were impeccably clean, and everyone made a real effort to help. Dinner was very good, too. When there was a special event on, the women at the counter gave me a list of great restaurants. This hotel gave me the best service I’ve ever had.

The rooms are a decent size and fairly comfortable. I took off a star because the cleaning didn’t seem thorough, or they may not clean under the bed. I found a tissue packet there that wasn’t ours. Breakfast was good, with a wide choice of teas and great make-your-own waffles. The food was kept topped up and there was enough variety for most people. It’s walkable from the train station, though not right beside it, about 10 to 15 minutes mostly through town. There are also a few bus stops nearby.

The doors slam very loudly when they close, so they really need soft-close fittings. Otherwise, the location is great for anything in Sheffield city center, and the rooms are fresh and clean. Reception were accommodating when we arrived and even texted after check-in to ask how the rooms were. That attentive service continued throughout. At breakfast, the restaurant staff member went above and beyond with our three boys from Hartlepool, helping them with breakfast and taking time to chat so they felt welcome in unfamiliar surroundings. Thanks to the team. We’d stay again, and it’s a good choice for families or business travellers.
