It’s a proper good pub, and I’ve been a couple of times. There’s a decent range of beers on tap, a nice atmosphere and a TV showing all the sports you need. I haven’t tried karaoke, but I’ve heard Saturday nights are good for it. The location’s handy, just outside the heart of Hillsborough on the tram route, with great post-pub food places nearby.

We were very happy with the room and the comfortable beds. It was excellent value: £85 for a room with three beds, which was an amazing price for three people, and dogs are welcome. I took off a star because there was gunk around the shower drain, less than one roll of loo paper, and I wasn’t convinced the floor had been mopped. Apart from that, it was clean and comfortable, and I’ll definitely book here again.

I didn’t get to stay, but the bar had a great feel and the staff were friendly. If the rooms are anything like that, I’d say give them a chance. Many thanks, I’ll be coming back.
