Breakfast was the highlight: a great spread, plus they made a fresh vegetarian option just for me. It was an amazing start to the day. The hotel is only five minutes from the University of Sheffield. I stayed one night and checked in late, but reception were welcoming and made it easy. The room was clean and comfortable. I’d stay again just for that breakfast.

Sabine and her team helped make our small graduation event special. On the day I was flustered, and Sabine stepped in to help set up the room and get things ready. She didn’t have to, but she and the team went above and beyond. Amy took over later and was great too. From our first visit, Sabine made us feel welcome and confident about booking. She explained everything clearly during planning, replied quickly, and was happy to help with any request. Our event at the Rutland Hotel on Sunday 19 April went very well, and the team were warm and professional with our guests as well as us. Sabine is a real asset to the venue.

There was plenty to choose from in the restaurant, and the lasagna I tried was fresh and delicious 😋. The staff were really friendly, and the communal areas were clean and smelled lovely. Just be aware there’s no lift, and some floors creak in places. I loved staying here and would come back and recommend it.

Some of our plans for a university event with external guests fell through at the last minute. I called Sabrin, who kindly sorted out rooms, catering, and room hire for the whole event. Everything went flawlessly, and I was very grateful for how helpful and attentive she was throughout. We were really happy with everything and would definitely recommend the Rutland for an event.
