William's Hillsborough Apartments

It's just steps from a tram stop, and only a short walk to a grocery store and bus station, so the location is ideal for getting around by public transport or taxi. Great for someone from a country where driving is on the opposite side. There was a little noise from other residents, which you could expect anywhere. Staff replied quickly to my messages before the stay and handled my situation well. I had one question about using the washer-dryer combo, since I wasn't used to that setup, and the person on the phone explained it wonderfully. Yes, I'd recommend this place.

Inside, it's clean and homely, and the location is great. It was a comfortable place to stay, though a few things needed attention: coat hooks would be useful, one bedside lamp didn't work, the clock had no battery, and there were only three tea bags and not enough toilet roll. When we arrived, the heating was off and a window had been left open, so it was cold.

The attendant was friendly, and the rooms were otherwise clean. But we had to wash all the crockery and cutlery before using it, and the worktop under the cutting block was very greasy. The washing machine's selector button was broken, so we taped it in place.

It's cheap and well placed for town, with a tram stop right outside. Trams and traffic can make it noisy, though it isn't too bad. Parking was a bit of a hassle, but the local park and ride is one stop away on the blue teams, then about a three minute walk.
