The rent is affordable, the apartments and landlord are okay, but there are several problems. The carpets need replacing, and getting readings from the electricity meter is difficult. Some tenants seem questionable, and there's often a smell of cigarettes and marijuana. The floors don't block sound, so I can hear the tenants above walking and running loudly, usually the women with lots of children. Some tenants or renters are rough characters who fight and swear frequently.

There was barely any communication from the business after booking, so their lack of preparation shouldn't have come as a surprise. When I arrived, I was told the room wasn't available because of vandalism. They offered a different room in a house more than 15 minutes away by car. It had no furniture, not even beds, and a dodgy lock.

A cosy place for a short visit, set among the scenic hills on Sheffield's outskirts. There's plenty of free parking, the Wi-Fi is good, and it's close to the lake. The room was well maintained, had good service, and came furnished with a kitchen.

The rooms were a decent size, and the place was clean and tidy. Parking was plentiful, too. It’s a good-value stay, though the location felt a little far away.
