Lou and Roger made our big group feel at ease and at home as soon as we arrived. We had a great time staying with them in April 2025. There were about half Brits and half Americans in our group, and everyone was mature, in their 60s or older. Their 1500s home is impressive and almost like a museum, but still relaxed and completely comfortable. Lou served generous, delicious breakfasts with heaps of fresh fruit and healthy options for those who wanted them. Roger knows an incredible amount about local history, agriculture, architecture and more. I hadn’t spent much time outside London, so it was a wonderful look at the English countryside. Some of us took the train from London to nearby Castle Cary. Middle Farm House is a great base for Cheddar Gorge and nearby gardens. Many thanks to Lou and Roger for looking after us so graciously.

We felt like part of the family from the moment Louise and Roger welcomed us. Their house is like stepping back in time, and the grounds are beautifully maintained. Louise made fantastic breakfasts, and we loved the area, too. The restaurants they recommended were excellent. We loved every part of our stay and recommend it very highly.
