Folly Fields Farm B&B

Keith Tucker and his family made us feel at home during our one-night stop with my son. I booked two rooms. Keith Tucker deserves a special mention for politely calling to check on us before we arrived, then patiently waiting when unavoidable circumstances meant we were very late coming from Wickford Essex. The B&B was comfortable and suited what we needed. I'd stay again.

The location is lovely, down a lane on the outskirts of Yeovil, and Keith was friendly and welcoming. The directions they sent were helpful, and taking shoes off indoors wasn't a problem. Views were lovely too. For walks, bring a torch, as the roads are dark and cars come through quickly. It's around 45 minutes from Weymouth and 30 minutes from Cerne Giant. We booked because the place looked nice, but I was disappointed by the room and facilities. We'd booked a room with a balcony, but on the top floor it turned out to be a Velux window that folds out, not what I'd expected. The lino floor wasn't comfortable, the bed wasn't comfortable, and the bathroom sink was tiny. Pipes were visible, the shower was so high I could nearly see over it, and the water was close to the light. The shower pipe was really dirty and the shower needed a proper clean. The room wasn't cleaned to a good standard overall. Breakfast was at a family table shared with another guest, which I found uncomfortable because of anxiety and social shyness. There were tablets and other things on the worktops. These are just my personal opinions, but I left disappointed with the room and facilities despite the friendly host and nice location.

The host was friendly, and the room was comfortable. Breakfast was freshly cooked, lovely and offered plenty of choice. My bathroom was private for my room, but it was across the landing rather than attached, so I had to be dressed before going over to it. That wasn't a problem.

The little room was lovely, and the balcony window made the view feel so relaxing. Keith cooked a generous breakfast to order. We're definitely adding this place to our list! 😁😁😁
