The Eastbury Hotel & Spa

The country road to the hotel had no street lights, so driving there on a winter evening, when it gets dark early, meant it was pitch dark. Once inside, I found a vintage-looking hotel and room, with a very clean, tidy bathroom and spotless bed and sheets. The room was very comfortable. Breakfast had a good range of cereals and breads, plus a well-presented cooked option. I stayed overnight during a business trip and had breakfast before heading out. A good place to stay.

We had a fab time, and Sherborne is within walking distance. Breakfast was lovely, and the gardens and surroundings were lovely too. Parking was easy, and the gorgeous room had a huge, comfortable bed. My only niggles: there’s no bar after 9pm, and I’d suggest putting a small fridge in the room with fresh milk, drinks and snacks instead of those little plastic long-life milks.

During my stay in October 2025 in the Lily room, the toilet stopped flushing and there was no running water. It happened after 8pm, when no staff were on site to help. At checkout I was told to put in a refund request through booking.com, but a week later the hotel is ignoring the requests and my emails are bouncing back. (Blocked?) I’d stayed several times before without any issues. How a guest is treated when something goes wrong says a lot, and I’m incredibly disappointed. I’ll now have to find somewhere else to stay once a fortnight.
