The Mitre Inn

A friendly country pub with really good food and staff who work efficiently. Lovely place.

The room was comfortable, with a nice bathroom and a strong shower. Breakfast was wonderful and cooked fresh to order. We didn't try the other meals, but would next time. We’ll definitely book again if we're back in the area.

Breakfasts were superb, and dinner was just as good, especially the best-cooked sea bass fillet I’ve had in a long time. The staff were lovely throughout. Although they were finishing the decorating when we arrived, they made us feel welcome and even offered to cook despite the kitchen being closed on Tuesday, as the website says. The room and bathroom were spacious and very nice. We heard no road noise or noise from other rooms, since there was only one other guest room. No complaints, a great stay.

The bar had a lovely character and a great atmosphere, and the service was good. It was very busy on Easter Sunday, but we still found a table and got drinks. We’ll come back.
