The meal was the highlight of our one-night stay. I had pâté and sirloin, while my husband chose pâté and the homemade burger. The steak was cooked exactly how I wanted it, something I hadn't had in ten years, and the latte was to die for. Our server was a real gem, young, efficient and courteous, a credit to the business. Breakfast was tasty and filling with filter coffee. The room was comfortable, with firm beds, and the rooms are set apart from the pub but still close by. They provided umbrellas, and there are two small, cosy smoking areas. Accommodation, food and drink were all very reasonably priced. We'd recommend it.

The hosts were friendly and the traditional food and desserts were great. Tucked away from the main route, the pub and guest house sits in a beautiful setting, with clean, comfortable accommodation. It had everything we wanted while travelling.

Our fitter called after staying last night and asked me to share how pleased he was. He found the rooms quiet, since they're beside but separate from the pub, and there was plenty of parking. I was in the area for a quick business trip and stayed two nights. After around 30 hours of travel, I arrived at 8am, much too early for check-in. Andrew kindly let me use the shower in an empty room, then checked me into my booked room later that day. He wouldn't even take extra payment for the additional cleaning. Everyone was friendly, and the local bar and food were both good. Thanks, I'd recommend it.
