There’s a main road nearby, but the traffic wasn’t especially noisy. Our cottage was clean, tidy, and nicely decorated, with a homely feel. The large bedroom had an en-suite shower, and there was plenty of space in both the kitchen diner and lounge. The kitchen also had a washing machine, dishwasher, and fridge freezer. We enjoyed watching the rabbits in the field. There are log cabins, cottages, and apartments here, and it’s definitely worth a stay.

A handy base for a few days exploring East Yorkshire as a couple. They’ve thought of the little things, even providing a small worktop hot plate if you need one. Beverley is very convenient, and York is within good reach. We’re hoping to stay again when we come to see friends.

I was on my motorcycle and they arranged sheltered parking for me. The full English breakfast was one of the best I’ve had, too. My room was essentially a small self-contained cottage with everything I needed, so I didn’t have to use the shared kitchen and lounge in another cottage nearby. I’d found the place by chance while looking for somewhere to stay before a business meeting in Hull, and was enchanted by it. I came back in 2019, and it was just as good: comfortable, friendly service, and a fabulous breakfast.

I stayed in one of the self-contained cabins for two nights on a business trip, and I’d definitely come back when I’m in the area. The veranda was a lovely spot for breakfast or an evening meal, looking out over the gardens. Inside, the cabin had the basics covered, including a microwave, kettle, TV, and fridge. The main road is right there, but I barely noticed it during the day and couldn’t hear it at night. Everything was close by: a large Tesco in Market Weighton about ten minutes down the road, McDonald’s 200yrds away, plus a carwash and an Indian restaurant in Shiptonthorpe. Jeanette could also suggest places to go for a more active break.
