The staff were very friendly and helpful when sorting out a room for me, and the location is great. But the room's condition and cleanliness overshadowed those positives by a country mile. There was dust everywhere, including on the wardrobe top, bedside table, and floor, so it looked like the room hadn't been cleaned in a while. The radiator was dusty and didn't work, and the shower head had limescale. The drain was clogged too, leaving a pool of water on the shower floor. When I first walked into reception, there was a smell that seemed like urine.

The hotel is good for the money, about a ten-minute walk to the underground, and the streets felt safe at night in this very Jewish part of London. The rooms were clean, tidy, and practical. The lady who checked us in on Sunday 28th was lovely, as was the woman greeting guests at breakfast, but some of the other staff really need to learn to look pleasant. Breakfast is vegetarian, which I didn't know when booking, so don't choose it if you want real meat. I skipped it on the second day and went elsewhere. Also, on day two there was no tea or coffee because the milk hadn't been replenished and the cups hadn't been replaced with clean ones.

There were plenty of spaces for all-day parking when staying at the hotel, which was great. The room was good value, though it could have been cleaner: there were stains on the quilt cover, and the hallway on the way there smelled strange. That corridor is quite narrow too, so getting through with bags and suitcases was a problem.

The price and convenient location were appreciated, but the stay was very disappointing. Our room had a ceiling window covered in spider webs and limescale, which was immediately off-putting, and the staff member checking us in seemed uninterested. The single beds were noticeably narrower than standard. At 6ft tall, my feet hung over the edge, and the bedding kept slipping off overnight. The room was extremely cold. When I asked for a heater, I was told nobody had complained about the temperature, but then also told all the heaters were already being used by other guests. That felt contradictory and dismissive. Maybe the hotel suits people used to arctic conditions, but I can't recommend it to anyone wanting comfort. I changed my rating from 2 stars to 1 after reading the hotel's response, which was a whole load of nothing.

I stayed at King Solomon Hotel from November 26 to November 29, 2025, and left dissatisfied with the customer service. At check-in I specifically asked for two single beds and was assured the request would be handled, but the room I got didn't have what I'd asked for. That caused inconvenience and affected my stay. I appreciate the staff's efforts, but failing to meet such a basic request was frustrating. I hope management improves communication so guest requests are honored in future.
