Perfect spot to base yourself for walks. The Lodge sits peacefully between two hills, and the whole place feels calm and quiet.

The Wilderness cottage is dog friendly, with a big enclosed garden and courtyard, while the wooden Lodge doesn't allow pets. We stayed in the cottage, which is down the road from the Lodge and owned by the same people, though run by Sykes Cottages. It's gorgeous and really remote, ideal if you want to get away from it all. There's no mobile coverage, but WiFi and a landline are available if needed. Both places have log-burning hot tubs, which were lovely on a chilly evening. There are plenty of local walks, plus a little pub and convenience store about half a mile down the road. Well worth a visit!

The views from the nearby hills are stunning. Some parts are quite steep, but the effort is worth it. At night, stargazing is a must if you're used to city skies. We saw two shooting stars, and from what previous visitors have said, that seems to happen often. The lodge was wonderfully quiet, with only birdsong breaking the silence. We arrived to a lovely bunch of flowers and an amazing lemon drizzle cake. The shop at the end of the road is well priced and has nearly everything you might need, including wood for heating the hot tub. It really is like Aladdin's cave. We had an incredible stay and will definitely be back soon.

The cabin is cosy and homely, and the wildlife and breathtaking walks around it made the place feel like paradise. It's so relaxing and remote, and exceeded our expectations. The hot tub was good once it got going, though I prefer an electric one because it's less hassle. The pub at the bottom of the road is friendly, reasonably priced and serves great food. The local shop has everything and is very reasonable too, a bit like Arkwright's, open all hours 😉

A hot tub and log fire, with a pub nearby. The location is ideal for exploring the Shropshire Stiperstones, and the beautiful countryside all around makes for a peaceful, relaxing stay.
