The Greenway Hotel & Spa

The setting was lovely, and the staff looked after us attentively without hovering. I had a gorgeous Christmas lunch with friends today, with beautifully presented, delicious food. The turkey was the best I've had in a long time. There was plenty for the price, and I'll definitely be back soon. Many thanks to everyone at The Greenway, and happy Christmas.

Breakfast was very good, and dinner was too, though it was expensive and billed separately from the stay. The staff were perfectly nice, which is why I gave two stars, but the price is much too high for what's included. Similar local hotels charge a lot less for the same or possibly better service. Our room in the Lodge was nicely decorated but small, with no spa facilities there. Getting to the hotel or spa meant a drive or a long walk, and the windows only opened a little. The spa was much smaller than it appeared online, especially the pool. Treatments were fully booked all weekend. That might be understandable, but no treatments are included in the booking price, and the spa is open to the public, with hotel guests not given priority.

Emma was a huge help getting balloons and flowers arranged for our arrival. We went to the Greenway hotel with friends for a special birthday, and the staff were brilliant. The food was lovely, service was good, and the complimentary gifts were very nice. No complaints, just praise.

The grounds are beautiful and well kept, and the staff were attentive, polite, and always smiling. We enjoyed both breakfast and dinner, the food was great. The pool was a huge disappointment. We chose the hotel because it had one, and Alice assured me by phone that my one-year-old could swim at certain times. At check-in we were told that wasn't allowed. After a three-hour drive, we couldn't really leave, so we stayed, but it was a real letdown since swimming is our daughter's favourite activity. There were cobwebs around the property, in room corners, and in lots of other areas, so it could use a deep clean. I wasn't offered any compensation for the pool mix-up. Given how expensive it was, that really sucked. It's nice enough, but I wouldn't stay again.
