The owner was friendly and left us to ourselves, which was nice. The bedrooms and shower rooms were clean, and the fridge and freezer were a good size. But the rest of the place wasn't as clean as I'd expected: crumbs on the worktop and sofa, a dirty handrail and wipe-down tablecloth, and a greasy hob. The cupboards were well stocked, though that left us with nowhere to put our own dried food.

We were welcomed with milk, flowers and biscuits, a lovely touch. The place is tucked away and peaceful, yet everything we needed was within about a 30-minute drive. We booked the week for ourselves and my in-laws, and it was a fabulous holiday let. We liked it enough to book again for next year. My one tip is to use what3words to find this wonderful place.

We booked through sykes and couldn't add photos to the reviews, but I'm puzzled by the other sites calling this place clean or spotless. The shower screen seals were really dirty, the lamp shades and blinds were stained, and the place felt grubby. The saucepans were worn and had loose handles, while the cushions were flattened, stained and ripped. Really disappointing.

Being out in the countryside makes this one of my favourite holiday spots, so quiet and peaceful. Sidmouth and the coast are still only a short drive away. My happy place 💛
