After a bracing autumn walk in Northumberland, this was such a peaceful place to stop for lunch, with lovely views over the garden from the best seats in the house. The staff were warm and welcoming, and our fresh paninis were well filled. We also had two delicious pumpkin spiced hot chocolates. I know the tearoom is usually shut over winter, so it was a real treat that they opened for Halloween weekend and greeted us with a pumpkin doggo 😁🥰

The garden seating area outside was lovely. I popped in for coffee and cake, and the homemade fruit scones were very good and reasonably priced. They had a 12 days of Christmas theme in July, decorations and all, which was interesting. The host explained the reasoning behind it.

Really glad I stopped in for breakfast. They gave me a great welcome, and the setting was lovely. The brekky was super and a good size. A lovely experience, and I’ll certainly drop by again. Thank you all.

The staff are really friendly, and the service is second to none. This was our third visit to this hidden gem, and the food has been excellent each time. We’ll be back as soon as they open after their winter break! 😀👍😘🥰

The garden is gorgeous, and the hamlet is such a peaceful, beautiful place. The accommodation was comfortable and charming, and chatting with Alex and Christine made us feel completely at home. They were so warm, friendly and welcoming. I really appreciated their thoughtful lifts to and from the HWP. They even offered to collect us as soon as we’d finished our miles for the day, before the room was ready, so we didn’t have to wait around. The food was delicious, and I loved getting to dine with the other guests. Alex and Christine joined us for a chat after the meal, too. There were so many divine cakes to choose from, and when it was my husband’s birthday during our stay, they kindly found a candle for his slice of cake. This was hands-down my favorite place to stay during our Hadrian’s Wall trek, and my favorite of the whole trip. If you’re near Simonburn or walking the Hadrian's Wall Path, don’t miss this little gem or the chance to meet such wonderful hosts. Thanks again, Alex and Christine, for making our stay so special!
