The accessible room needs a real revamp and testing by a disabled person. The built-in furniture left the hanging rails and hangers out of reach from a wheelchair, as was the kettle on a small wooden shelf. The beds had terrible mattresses and no protectors, and the linen wasn't changed during our stay. There were no bars or monkey pull to help get out of bed, and the bathroom was just as bad: rusty mirrors, towels not changed after use, and grab rails that didn't help when getting in and out of the shower. The shower seat sat directly under the shower, so your back was against the pipe and the water could cause second-degree burns. The floor wasn't level, with a small ramp, making a wheelchair transfer a two-person job. The patio doors wouldn't open, however hard you tried, yet never seemed properly secure. They were also meant to be the fire escape, but although there was a ramp outside, you obviously couldn't get out that way. I wasn't comfortable with the joined doors, so I wedged a chair under the handle to feel safer. The rooms are outdated, with no USB ports or sockets between the twin beds. It's frustrating that accessible rooms are always right at the far end. When your mobility is limited, walking half a mile to your room after travelling from far away is no good. At least put a chair in the hall so I can rest before I pass out.

The staff at Parkdean Resorts Southview Holiday Park were warm, attentive and genuinely helpful throughout our stay. Our accommodation was clean and comfortable, and the resort had a pleasant feel and a great location. We were there for a special occasion, and the setting made it feel that bit more special, a step above an average holiday park. It was a really positive backdrop for the celebration. We'd happily return and recommend it for marking an occasion on the Lincolnshire coast.

We got a very good deal, eighty quid for four nights in a one berth 'bronze' caravan, though there were a couple of niggles with it. It's quiet because it's about five minutes outside Skegness town centre. Skegness is good, a bit like a less dodgy Blackpool, and the Seal sanctuary is amazing.

The staff were friendly and helpful, and for my son's birthday they even brought balloons and chocolates to our room. Such a thoughtful gesture, thank you! The room was spacious, clean and had everything we needed. Breakfast was good too, though it'd be nice to have pastries and alternative milks as options. We came for a mini break to celebrate his birthday and had a lovely stay.
