The staff were superb, so friendly and attentive. I went on Saturday and ordered the margarita pizza with extra caramelised onion. It was incredibly tasty, one of the best pizzas I’ve had. The skin on fries were just as good, and the portion was so big I couldn’t finish them. For two mains, a side, two alcoholic drinks and three diet Pepsis, £58 felt very reasonable for food this good. What a find!

We came back after staying here last year, but this visit wasn’t as good. Our top floor room was smaller than the ones on the middle floor, and there was a lot of noise, presumably from plumbing in adjoining rooms. The shower cubicle had quite a bit of black mould, and the hair dryer didn’t work. Dinner was OK, while breakfast was good. The staff were friendly and the location is very good.

After a walk in the woods or the Dales, sitting by the roaring open fire with a pint and your dog is hard to beat. In my opinion, this is the best local pub. It can get very busy, but the food is amazing. I’d say its Sunday roast is the best anywhere nearby, and the staff are always welcoming and friendly. Highly recommend!

We spent the afternoon here with friends for a birthday get together. The pub is cosy and charming, with a varied choice of drinks and food. We stayed to eat and were glad we did. The food was lovely and reasonably priced. I’d definitely recommend it for both drinks and a meal.

The food was tasty and good quality, and there’s Timothy Taylor beers on offer too. On the evening of Wednesday 11th February, the young gentleman serving in the restaurant did an excellent job. The bar service was quick and friendly. A great experience.
