I haven’t stayed at the inn, so this is just about the pub. The service was friendly, the place is historic and very nice, and there are beers including cask ales. I had the full English breakfast, one of the best I’ve had, even compared with when I lived in England. Prices are very reasonable for the airport area, much lower than the other pub menus I checked.

We stayed here before flying to Australia. The rooms were cozy and nice, though the pub itself is 920 years old. The food was out of this world. The Ostrich makes its onion rings by hand, and if you’re a fan, they’re freaking awesome. My wife’s steak with pepper sauce was cooked to perfection and to die for.

We had dinner in the bar and stayed overnight in the King John Suite. It was very expensive, but worth every penny. Royals have stayed in that room since the year 1100! See pics. The inn is full of historical details and things to look at, and it has ghosts too. We saw and videoed orbs! See video. The food and service were great, and parking was completely free. If you’re flying from LHR, this quaint village inn is 15 mins from Heathrow and gives you a chance to experience 1000 years of history. I’d choose it over one of the airport chain hotels.

The Inn’s design and age were part of what we loved, and both the room and bathroom were clean. We booked the King John Suite, but the bed’s soft spring mattress was so uncomfortable that we couldn’t get a good night’s sleep. That really spoiled the experience. The pub is on the high street, where traffic is heavy, so expect a lot of noise if you book this suit. Bring earplugs. The bathtub looks lovely and tempting, but the plug doesn’t work properly and it leaks, so the water drains before you can enjoy a long bath. The bar food was nice, and parking was convenient. I’d book again if the bed had the mattress it deserves. It’s a lovely place, and I recommend staying, but the uncomfortable bed needs sorting.

Keah looked after us so well throughout, and the staff were friendly, making for a great atmosphere. Tom’s avocado on toast was fresh, full of flavour and beautifully presented. We had a lovely time at The Ostrich Inn and will definitely come back for more excellent food and service.
