Meadow View Bed Breakfast

The shower head kept slipping out of its clamp because it didn't fit properly on the slide bar. Our room also ran out of water and tea bags, and the guests next door were very loud with their TV and radio, with no consideration for anyone else. My daughter and I stayed two nights. We found the owners quite unfriendly and they didn't chat to us, especially on the second morning. Breakfast was OK on day one, but the coffee and orange juice were both far too diluted the next day, and our mushrooms weren't cooked at all. We wouldn't really recommend this B&B, especially for the price.

The couple running meadow view were so welcoming, even though we arrived later than planned. They also went out of their way to dry our wet clothes, which was so kind. Our clean, comfortable room and the breakfast made just for us were lovely. They asked the night before what we wanted for breakfast, which made us feel really looked after. Perfect hosts, thanks so much. Hope we can come back someday. Many thanks.

Robin and Marion made us feel very welcome, and Robin cooked a great breakfast. They can cater for dietary needs, including gluten free. It's a cosy, homely B&B in a quiet village just outside Penrith, with two ground floor rooms that have walk in showers and comfortable beds.

A lovely B&B, with clean rooms and a good breakfast. It's handy for Ullswater, Pooley Bridge and Penrith, as well as some great hiking spots.
