The continental breakfast was a very pleasant surprise, both beautiful and tasty. This is a busy, popular place, but our room was lovely and quiet, with a shower, clean and with a good choice of TV channels. There was good parking, a bar, and a restaurant with a nice dinner menu. The staff were extremely helpful and friendly, even the drunk customer who greeted us when we arrived.

We booked a large table for a family gathering, and the staff were extremely accommodating. They gave us a great spot when we arrived. The food and service were excellent, and it was a lovely touch when the chef checked in on us.

A quiet adults-only spot that works well for an overnight motorhome stop. We paid £12.50 per adult per night, and there are good facilities, with local bits available at the garage around the corner. Nice cycling routes start from the campsite, and it’s handy for Somerset attractions, including Somerton and Castle Cary. The railway line is nearby, but trains were few and far between. Afternoon tea is available from noon to 5pm. One of our favourite places down this way, would recommend.

The pub dinner was incredible, some of the best food I’ve had in a pub for years, and the atmosphere was great with locals enjoying themselves. I was only passing through for work and booked one night, but it turned out to be a really good stop. The staff were friendly and helpful when I arrived and answered all my questions. The room was lovely, clean and cosy, and the weather was nice too. I’d come back if I’m in the area again.

I had duck for my main and it was cooked beautifully. We were tucked into a cosy seating spot around the corner from the bar, and the service was impeccable. There’s a good selection of beer and wine here. Lovely pub, I’d highly recommend it.
