I’ve eaten out a lot across the UK and Europe in my mid sixties, and I don’t think I’ve ever written a complaint review before. This experience upset me enough to do it. The soup cost more than buying soup in London, and the small bowl arrived only half full. I was still hungry, so I asked for more, but was told I’d be charged for it. The price, tiny serving, and refusal to give me more without another charge made for an awful experience.

Station House has a cosy feel and that lovely positive Devon village vibe. The owners and staff were very friendly. We stopped in for Sunday roast while spending the weekend in Devon, and it was the best I’d had in years. It had real taste, and the vegetables were seasoned thoughtfully, not just taken out of the oven.

So glad I ordered a cake for my mum’s 80th birthday. The service was really friendly when I placed the order and again when I picked it up, and the cake was absolutely delicious 😋

After a walk on the Moor, we popped in for coffee and cake. The cake was delicious, the atmosphere welcoming, and the music was great too. Would dego back.

The main draw at The Station House is the range of teas, coffees, soft drinks, cakes, pastries, tea-cakes and snacks, though they do have an alcohol licence too. It’s popular, and if there’s no space to park outside, there’s a large free station car park about 50 yards further up on the left. Staff are very friendly and bring your order to the table. From the street it looks small, but there’s a tardis-like large room at the back, signposted First Class. The nostalgic railway connection gives the place a real family feel.
