I was running late, but they still cooked me something to eat after the kitchen had stopped serving. The pizza and chips were fantastic, and breakfast the next morning was great too. My room was fresh, spotlessly clean, smelled amazing, and I slept well. I stayed one night on Tuesday 3rd of February. Booking The Brewers Arms was a completely random choice, though the reviews helped me decide. I’m so glad I picked it. The staff were simply amazing. The Brewers Arms is brilliant if you need somewhere to stay for the night. A million times better than a boring Travel lodge.

The steak was overcooked, and the food wasn't described accurately. They switched out sauces without warning. Portions were tiny for the price, and we were given the worst table despite plenty of nicer ones being free. The waitresses and owner came across as a bit rude and judgemental.

It was surprisingly crowded for such a tiny village, but this small local pub had a lovely atmosphere and great music. The community felt joyful and welcoming to us, perhaps because we were there with friends who live locally.

The fish was improperly and horribly cooked, with an oily, jelly like texture, and this happened twice in a row. The waitress did offer a replacement, but the owner wouldn’t take responsibility and kept making excuses about never having had a complaint in thirty years. That doesn't change what happened to this customer. A simple apology would have been enough, but instead the owner was snarky and rude. From other reviews, it seems this isn't the first time.

For my birthday, my husband booked dinner for us and another couple. The first staff member we met was friendly and lovely, but the owner/landlady took over and was unbelievably rude. She barely interacted with us, practically threw down the menus, then waited for us to order without saying anything. I ordered the chicken and bacon salad. Everyone else’s food was satisfactory, but my chicken was so dry it hurt my mouth. No one came to our table for two hours after the food was put down, except to half heartedly ask about dessert and react with disdain when we said no. The table beside us seemed to be friends with the staff or owner. They got 110% of the attention, including staff sitting down for a drink and hugging them. We waited at least an hour for more drinks, then gave up because it had got too late. At the end, I politely told the lovely lady taking payment what had happened. I made clear it was no reflection on her or the other girl who had served us at the start. I’ve never felt the need to leave a review like this before, but I’m so disappointed and disgusted by the service and the owner’s behaviour. If you take a customer facing job, basic manners are the least you can manage. After leaving, I read other reviews and saw the same complaint seems to come up repeatedly.
