The waitresses were attentive and the Mother’s Day Sunday lunch was lovely, with great food. The man behind the bar, who looked like the landlord or manager, put me off. He drank three pints behind the bar while we were there and wore an unironed T-shirt while everyone else was dressed smartly. It didn’t feel professional.

We went for jazz night, which was a nice extra. It’s a dog-friendly pub with a lovely atmosphere and great food, and the staff were warm and welcoming.

We were passing through on holiday and stopped for lunch. I had the beef, pork and ham platter, and my partner chose ham, egg and chips. Both were delicious. Highly recommend 👌

We booked at the last minute while my husband was working nearby and got friendly, polite service all the way through. It’s a quiet country pub with a lovely beer garden, attentive bar staff and brilliant food. Our reasonably priced room was tidy and clean, with toiletries, water, tea and coffee, and breakfast was included, freshly made and delicious. We slept well on Saturday night since the pub was quiet and closed at a reasonable time. Keep an eye out for the hidden frogs for a bit of extra fun 😊😊
