Britannia Guest House

We had a good night’s sleep in the warm, cosy family room at the back of the house. It was spotless, nicely decorated, and the bed was comfortable. Breakfast was tasty and generous. We had the full English, which was more than enough to keep us going. The dining room was bright and airy, and I loved the 'clock' wall. Paul was friendly and welcoming when we saw him, though we didn’t see much of him. The guesthouse was spotlessly clean and nicely decorated throughout. A definite 10/10 from us, and we’d recommend a stay here.

The little bar area is really quirky, with a great range of drinks and board games for relaxing. The decor is beautiful, the place was tidy and clean, and the bed was super comfy. There was tea and coffee on hand and a private bathroom next to our room. The gentleman who greeted us was friendly and helpful. My partner and I stayed two nights for a wedding in South Shields and had a great time. I’d never stayed in a B&B before, since we’d originally planned to book a hotel, and I was so pleased my first experience was this comfortable. We didn’t have breakfast because we had other plans, but we’ll come back and try it. Great location, with everything you could need. I’d highly recommend the Kingsmere. Thank you!

Breakfast was cooked just right, and the whole place was spotless with lovely decor. We stayed last night and had one of the best night’s sleeps I’ve had in ages. The room was just right and the beds were really comfortable. Already looking forward to coming back.

Sally and Paul were welcoming from my first phone call to booking through to our arrival. We had two dogs with us, and they gave us their most spacious room, which was modern and clean. The beds were very comfortable, and we felt at ease throughout our stay. Breakfast was great, and Sally was genuinely interested in getting to know us and the dogs during our chats. I’d recommend Kingsmere guesthouse to anyone visiting South Shields. It’s in a great spot near Ocean road, with plenty of food options.
