Sugar Sands beach was stunning and still not too busy on a sunny August afternoon, and we could walk there from the house. The Fishing Boat Inn at Boulmer was also reachable on foot, about two miles away along a path, which worked for older kids or pushchairs. The house made a great base for exploring Northumberland and had plenty of bedroom and bathroom space for our two families. Its enclosed, south-facing garden was a lovely sun trap and ideal for small children or dogs. We'd certainly come back.

The cheerful nautical decor is lovely, and the house is really well equipped, with games and jigsaws in the sideboard. We were welcomed with a bottle of wine, and the very amiable cleaning lady left another when she changed our bedding and towels at the end of the first week. Sugar Sands is clean and comfortable, and we've stayed in 2018 and 2019, with plans to return next year. There's a Co op just across the road, and Company B cafe farther along is friendly and well worth a visit for its delicious homemade cakes. The cottage exceeded our expectations again. We'd happily recommend Sugar Sands.

We stayed for over two months on business, and the house felt like a real home from home. It was clean, spacious and had everything we needed. Extra cleaning measures were in place for us as key workers. The owner was friendly and accommodating, and knew the area well, with recommendations for places to eat, shop and explore if you're on holiday. Parking was ample and the neighbours were lovely too. We'll be sad to leave. A super stay, and we'd recommend the house for business or a holiday. Thank you so much.
