I had a very pleasant stay and would happily use this hotel again. The rooms are comfortable, and the shower has great pressure. Breakfast was a highlight, with a wide choice of continental options, all good quality. Dinner was good too, though the menu is unfortunately quite limited. The staff were friendly and helpful throughout. In my room, 526, there was a strange low hum that seemed to come through the bed and pillows. I’m not sure if it was just that room, but as a side sleeper I could hear it and needed some time to get used to it.

Celia on reception really went out of her way to help when I got locked out after breakfast. She came upstairs with another keycard, found that the reader’s battery had died, then went back down and returned with keys to get me in. She was also handling other guests at the desk, so I really appreciated the effort. I was staying midweek for work, and the check-in staff were friendly and efficient. My room on the fourth floor was clean and comfortable. The shower had been very hot the previous evening, but was only warm in the morning. I had fish and chips in the restaurant, which were nice, and the staff there were friendly too. The breakfast was okay, though some hot buffet items had run out by 8 and took a while to be replenished. A pint of Pepsi Max at £5 felt a bit steep.

We had a lovely stay at the double tree. The rooms were clean and nice, and all the staff made sure we were comfortable and had enough to drink. Celia was always smiling and ready to help, and her warm welcome meant a lot to my mother. We’ll be back for another transit stay soon!

We stayed at the hotel for a family wedding from 16th to 18th Jan 2026, and had a brilliant time. The staff were fabulous, especially David and the lovely woman at the bar, whose name I’m sorry I didn’t catch. She was about to have two days off after the wedding. On Friday evening, we had a medical urgency, and she and David were fantastic in how they responded. The woman cleaning the rooms on Saturday morning also kindly helped my elderly mum get another duvet to keep warm. Reception were very helpful as well. A great stay all round! Debbie S.l

The room was spot on, with working A/C, a clean bathroom, fresh towels, and complimentary cookies and water. Checkout at 12pm was generous too. We had a great couple of nights and would highly recommend the hotel. Celia looked after us on the second night and was a joy to deal with, really helpful. If you’re clumsy like me, the Hilton Honors app is handy: digital check-in lets you get a digital key.
