The Coral Guest House

The room was so dirty that I gave up looking for somewhere else and drove four hours home. At 8am we couldn't find alternative accommodation, and since then I haven't received the refund I was offered. I've also been blocked. I'd booked the family room well ahead for two nights because I was travelling with my three children after leaving our cruise ship at 7am and needed early check-in. I explained this to Percy when booking and thought the keycode safe would make entry straightforward. Instead, there was no key in it, so I climbed through a window to get into the property, then had to climb through another window because our room door was locked from inside. The room wasn't acceptable. The walls had mismatched paint patches and there was damp on the ceiling. A TV was there, but nowhere to plug it in. The bedding was filthy: I photographed blood on the sheets, hairs, and dried paint on the pillowcases. The host apologised when I showed him the pictures and offered a refund, then pointed me to spare linen that was dirty too. A room in this condition shouldn't be rented out.
