Walcot Guest House

We were four couples, and all of our double rooms had ensuites and were clean and fresh. There was complimentary tea, coffee, shower gel, and shampoo, and everyone slept comfortably. Rob and Denise were lovely hosts at this welcoming guest house. Seven of us ordered different breakfasts, and all our food arrived at once, hot and delicious. Rob kept checking whether we wanted more tea or coffee and was very attentive. We were all relaxed, and every plate was empty.

A lovely guesthouse just outside Southampton, easy to find with plenty of parking. The host was warm and friendly, the bed was comfortable, and the room was a good temperature. Breakfast in the morning was top-notch. Highly recommended!

We've stayed here several times, and keep coming back because the quality is consistently good. The rooms are very comfortable, and the family room was spacious enough for two adults and two teenagers. They replenished the tea tray every day, which most places don't, and let us use their fridge for some of our own food. The breakfast was first class too. We'll definitely return. Many thanks.

We were warmly welcomed and could leave our bags in the room early. But when we came back at 3.30pm, the heating wasn't on. Even though we were back fairly early, the room never really got warm enough to be comfortable, and the heating went off again at 10pm. The bed was comfortable, but the room looked dated, and there were cobwebs and dust. For £90, I expected more. Breakfast was included and excellent, with a great range of choices. There were good points and bad ones, but it didn't feel like a £90 room.
