Pier View Self Catering Apartments

We had a really comfortable stay. The bed was good quality, the rooms were spacious and had everything we wanted, and the owners were helpful with everything. They’re happy to help carry luggage too. There was fresh water and a pint of milk in the fridge, and the coffee machine was ready with pods. The building has lots of character and is clearly well cared for. We were on a quiet street near everything, with no late-night noise. Our room’s three front-facing windows were lovely in the morning sun. There’s also a shared lounge on the first floor with a balcony, a nice place to sit and unwind.

When we return to Southend, we know where we’ll stay. My sister booked the apartment near her wedding venue, and we got a confirmation with the details and parking information. We let Ed know when we’d arrive; he met us and carried our luggage upstairs, then explained the place and showed us the shared lounge and its great seafront balcony. Our apartment was clean, lovely and child-friendly for our girls, aged five and two and a half. They loved the extras in the fridge, including milk and orange juice, as well as the chocolate and sweets. We slept well for two nights and heard nothing, even though we were on the seafront. The beds were made the next day too, which we hadn’t expected since it isn’t a hotel. Great job all round.

The apartment was lovely for our short family visit. We had sea and pier views, a comfortable bed, a kitchen area and everything we needed, including a generous welcome pack to get our relaxing stay started. Ed was very helpful before we arrived and while we were there. The communal lounge was another nice extra, where we could have tea or drinks with family. The hotel was quiet and we slept well. The location is ideal, with all sorts of shops just a few minutes away. We’ve self-catered in the area several times, and this place is now top of our list. Thanks, Ed. We’ll be back soon.

The owners and staff are a big part of why I keep coming back. They’re friendly and charming without intruding, and the service goes well beyond what I’d expect from a normal B&B, more like a hotel. They’ve looked after me exceptionally and always exceed my expectations without being asked. I stay at Pier View regularly for five nights at a time on business, and it feels like a home away from home. The rooms are beautifully finished and clean, with very comfortable beds. Breakfast is lovely, with lots of healthy choices. The location is very good too, close to the pier, seafront and Southend high street and centre.
