The rooms were clean and the location is very convenient. Just know there’s a busy bar directly underneath the hotel. The soundproofing isn’t great, so you hear the nightlife in your room. If you’re a light sleeper, bring proper earplugs if you want a decent night’s sleep.

WORST CHRISTMAS EVER! I came away with loads of bed bug bites, and there’s a risk of bringing them home too. The Belgrave and acapulco rooms have a serious infestation problem. Mark should shut the business until health and safety deems it safe. Don’t go back or stay there.

A good budget base for visiting nearby areas, with restaurants and pubs close by if you don’t want to make your own food. There’s also a store across the road for groceries and drinks. My room was warm and cosy in the middle of winter, and the room, bed and bathroom were clean. I could use a kitchen with a microwave, kettle, cutlery and crockery, plus a separate place to eat. Great for a stopover.

I would’ve given it a higher rating if they’d replied to my emails or calls. In the end, I got a better deal somewhere else.

Fantastic staff and a spotless room, shower and toilet. You won’t find a better budget room in Southsea or Portsmouth, and the value for money is unbelievable.
