Becketts Southsea

Our guests made great use of the grazing buffet, and the Vault downstairs had a dancefloor and a photobooth that everyone enjoyed, at £5 per photo. We held our engagement party at Becketts at the beginning of January, hiring half the venue for 45 guests across the Vault and middle floor bar room. Denny and the team were attentive, and the customer service was great. We were able to create our own signature cocktail menu by choosing drinks from the actual menu, which went down a treat and helped us reach the minimum bar spend. There was a wide cocktail selection, around £13 each, and we felt they were worth it. The townhouse seemed narrow at first, but with everyone there the layout between the lower and middle floors made a lovely social space. We let the bar staff run our Spotify playlists from upstairs, and the disco lights added a party feel. I'd recommend it for celebrations with friends, family, or colleagues. I also saw a plaque outside saying something along the lines of “Best developed venue in Portsmouth.”

The bar team were so helpful, including putting up decorations and helping us sort out the cakes. Becketts hosted my fiancé's and my engagement party recently, and it was brilliant. All our guests loved the place, especially the cocktails. I'd highly recommend it for an event.

Every staff member helped us feel comfortable and went above and beyond for our engagement party. It was an incredible venue with incredible staff, and nothing could have gone better. We're very thankful. Thank you!

Staff were welcoming, attentive, and full of useful information. Our rooms were clean, warm, and inviting, and the whole place was incredibly well kept. We arrived with lots of bags, but the staff kindly arranged to have them brought up to our rooms. Breakfast was light and delicious.
