Snobs and Rebels Apartments

The apartments were spotless and had everything we needed for a short stay, even if they didn’t come with every possible extra. They’re also well priced and in a fantastic location, and the team couldn’t have been more helpful.

We had both the cottage and an apartment. They were lovely and clean, with easy access to town. The only drawback was that the cottage had an oven while the apartment only had a microwave. If you’re planning to eat out most of the time, that’s no problem.

We didn’t stay the second night and won’t be coming back. The owners were hard to reach, there was no real parking, and we were offered only a 10% refund. This caused a lot of unnecessary stress that should have been dealt with last week. A lot of things weren’t working or clean. The cooker didn’t work, the TV wasn’t programmed and we had to set it up ourselves, and the cutlery and crockery were dirty. There were sweet wrappers in a drawer, one sheet had a stain, and even the washing up liquid had been watered down. There were no mirrors in place, and the photos speak for themselves. I don’t understand why the cooker wasn’t marked as faulty or why the utensils were left so dirty. We’ve run an Airbnb ourselves. Most people would have said sorry and offered a reasonable amount back for the upset. You didn’t, even when Booking.com finally managed to get hold of you. We only got 10%. Thank you for replying, but it wasn’t so easy last week. This place is nowhere near up to scratch, and if this is what’s considered modern, it’s unbelievable. Don’t stay here. I’ll be posting this on other platforms.

The location was ideal, especially for the Fringe festival, but the place had some real drawbacks. There wasn’t anywhere comfortable to sit apart from a sofa bed in one bedroom, so it was hard to relax with friends over tea in the morning or evening. There was no WiFi for the whole long weekend, and little things like bins in the bedrooms were missing. The bathroom had nowhere to hang a towel. Around the sink it was a bit shabby, with peeling plywood, and the shower pipe was coming apart; the head needs replacing too. Snobs looked lovely at first, with lots of historical knick-knacks mostly connected to polo and colonial times, but they collected dust, which didn’t suit my asthma.
