The starters took a long time to arrive, but they were nice once they came. The main courses were the problem: three of the four meals were very salty. I ordered sea bass with risotto and ate only one fillet and a little risotto because it was too salty. I mentioned it to the waitress. We've often enjoyed meals at the Malthouse, but this visit was disappointing.

The room was cosy and suited our needs perfectly, and it was great value. The staff were amazing, and so was the food. We were happy with our stay and already look forward to coming back, though we sadly couldn't stay another night. Thank you.

The pork, blue cheese and walnut salad from the £9.95 menu was warm and very good. We came for Thursday lunch, our first visit since it reopened, and couldn't fault it. Staff were pleasant, there was a good range of dishes for different budgets and tastes, and the menu puts a Yorkshire twist on traditional British food. There's plenty of parking, and their page lists various themed nights.

We came for a family meal and everyone enjoyed the food. The menu has gluten-free and vegetarian choices, and it was good to see Vocation Heart and Soul gluten-free beer on tap. Two courses and a couple of drinks each came to about £35 per person.

We turned up at the last minute and still got 100% from every staff member. The service was amazing, and the owners are a lovely couple. The food was outstanding. I'd highly recommend it. Thank you all!
