Tankerville Arms

We spent New Year's Eve here with our labrador and have already booked another stay. We felt it was great value for money, and I've never experienced a more dog-friendly place. Even though the secure beer garden was closed for winter, we could use it to let our dog off lead safely. There was a basket of dog towels by the back door for muddy paws, and we got an extra plate of sausage for the dog at breakfast. Our room was spacious and immaculately clean, with a very comfortable extra-large king-size bed. The staff were warm, friendly and attentive, the food was delicious with generous portions, and there was a great drinks selection and lovely atmosphere. From the moment we arrived, the hospitality was faultless, with so many thoughtful touches.

A lovely, traditional country pub, friendly too. We had Sunday lunch and it was fabulous, with generous amounts of quality food, enough for a big appetite. The lamb and beef were cooked perfectly. Excellent value, we'll be back. Heather and Richard Stokoe and Paddy.🐾

After a week of eating out in Northumbria, this was one of our best meals. The food was cooked beautifully and delicious, with vegetarian and meat dishes offered equally. We weren't staying overnight as we'd already booked accommodation, but would consider staying another time. We also had a second course and some local real ales, which were very well kept. Highly recommend, we'll be back.

We chose this beautiful location for our 20th wedding anniversary and loved the friendly staff, lovely meals and overall atmosphere. We'll book again. We can't recommend the place enough.
