The food was delicious, especially the steak and mushroom pie, which I'd recommend. It's a lovely dog-friendly pub, and the staff were lovely as well.

There are plenty of homemade dishes on the menu, and the prices are very reasonable. It's an old-fashioned pub with a lot of charm, a warm welcome and friendly locals. Dogs are welcome too, with treats for them. We had a wonderful visit, enjoyed a fantastic meal, and found it a lovely place to unwind at lunchtime or in the evening. Highly recommended.

The pub served great food, and the staff were friendly and helpful. The accommodation was clean, comfortable and excellent. It makes a great base for visiting historic Durham City, just a few miles from the free Park & Ride if you have a bus pass. Beamish, the Living Museum of the North, is also nearby. We'd highly recommend staying here and hope to return. Jim & Ann Walker, South Yorkshire.
