The rooms are small and there isn't an elevator, which you'd expect in a heritage building, but they were exceptionally clean. The location is hard to beat for golfers, just a two-minute walk from Old Course, with restaurants and cafes nearby and a great pub next door. We had a wonderful stay at Cleveden House and will certainly book again.

Clevedon house was a great base for walking to many of St. Andrews' main sights. Old Course, the Aquarium, shops, lots of pubs and restaurants, and a great coffee shop called Taste are all close by, though I'm sure there are other coffee places too. We enjoyed our stay. Breakfast was a bit disappointing for me, coming from an American, so I'd suggest eating breakfast somewhere else.

Fine for a night, with clean, comfortable rooms and a few restaurants right outside. We were heading to a wedding, so didn't get to explore, but I imagine it's pretty central to everything. It's not a bed and breakfast, though there's a choice of grab-and-go breakfast things in the lounge, like cereal bars and porridge pots.

The rooms have had a refurbishment since last season, and that’s made this a great experience. They’re well suited to visiting golfers who expect a bit more. It’s recently joined the new portfolio, which includes the Dunvegan, probably the best bar in St Andrews and my local when I’m in town.

We were happy with what we got for the price: the rooms were clean and comfortable, even if basic and not especially big. It was a great base in a perfect spot for our trip, and I’d definitely stay again.
