For 500 pounds a night, I got a sleeping pod rather than a hotel room, with barely enough room to open a suitcase. The bathroom was about the size of an airplane loo, and the Eco shower ran on a 3-minute timer. The water was cold and the shower stopped after 10 seconds. Staff were very friendly, but told me that was too bad and there was nothing they could do. The room’s climate control didn’t work either, and there was no reading light or bedside lamp, so I had to stumble around in the dark or bring my own flashlight. Absolutely no value for 500 pounds. Enjoy!

We arrived late, but the night porter was very helpful and accommodating. Breakfast the next morning was fantastic, and the receptionist was courteous and helpful too. I’d recommend staying here and would come back.

There’s a charming fireplace, and the place has a quaint feel. The staff were genuinely pleasant and enthusiastic, and seemed to enjoy working there. It was exceptional value too. I’m sure I’ll return.

The Albany was my favourite of the hotels we stayed in while touring Ireland and N. Ireland and making the trip to St. Andrews, even though we visited some very nice places. The staff were incredibly kind and sincere. Our upstairs room was nicely appointed, and we had an excellent breakfast in the lower part of the hotel.
