The Old Station

The rooms are decorated with real thought, and nothing feels like it’s missing. There’s a beautiful garden, parking, and places to sit both indoors and out. The entrance hall and breakfast room are decorated in a sophisticated style.

I was sad to leave the Old Station. It’s in a beautiful, quiet spot, still not too far from the centre of St Andrews, and this four-star bed and breakfast ticked every box for me. I like the quiet life and could honestly live here all my life. The room was cosy, the bed was out of this world, the shower facilities were on par, excuse the pun, and the views were stunning. The owners, Dean and Alisa, couldn’t have done more for me. Their son Lewis was just as lovely, and they’re among the friendliest people you could meet. There was a wide selection at breakfast, and it was delicious. I’ll definitely make this my go-to stay in future. Thanks for such a warm welcome.

What a lucky find. We couldn’t get a room in St Andrews and were driving to another place that had space when we spotted a huge train carriage on someone’s lawn. We turned around and popped in, then realised it was a carriage on tracks, part of a former railway station. They had room for us that night. The owners were friendly, the little place was pleasant, and our room was clean with a very comfortable bed. Downstairs the next morning, breakfast was a feast and set us both up for the day. I’ll be back to this part of the world, and now that I know where it is, I’ll head straight to this lovely place just outside St Andrews. Happy to recommend it.

The free pool, table tennis and little golf bunker were great extras, especially for practising before heading to St Andrews. The owners and staff were really friendly, and the location made it easy to get into town, with the Castle Course just two minutes away by car. We loved our stay.
