Lower Barns Boutique B&B

Our little wedding and stay at Lower Barns was amazing. We stayed in the Hayloft Hangout with our children, and we all felt at home straight away. It’s so comfortable, with beautiful things everywhere. The rooms and gardens are gorgeous and eclectic, unlike anywhere I’ve been. Breakfast was amazing, and Janie and Mike were exceptional hosts. Such a special place, highly recommend!

The wedding day itself was just right, from the setting and flowers to the rooms, gardens, food, and even the weather. Janie and Mike were wonderful hosts for our small wedding last September, and the whole Lower Barns team was attentive without hovering. Janie handled the planning by email, which made things much easier while we had so much else to arrange. Her eye for detail shows in both the design and the planning, and it feels like her heart is in everything at Lower Barns. We’re a family of four with our dog, and we all felt safe and comfortable in the homely but luxurious accommodation. Mike cooked hearty, healthy breakfasts and even took photos of all of us, which our family and friends really appreciate. Thanks as well to Janie’s sister, Jodie, for helping make the stay so lovely. Robyn was happy there and got to say hello to the very cute Frida. Lower Barns is a real hidden gem. Wishing Janie, Mike, and Lower Barns all the best for the future, and thank you.

We’ve been back to Lower Barns twice since our wedding in 2022, once for our first anniversary and once with my parents and young daughter. Both stays were just as memorable, and we’ll treasure those visits. We’d dreamed of eloping in Cornwall, and from our first contact we felt there was something special about the place. We knew right away that we wanted Mike and Janie involved in our day. They made the whole wedding process feel easy, calm, and welcoming, exactly what we needed. Lower Barns means a lot to us, and we hope to return.

After arriving late on our bikes, we were very glad to find the hot tub and a big, comfortable bed. I slept better than I have in ages, then had a lovely breakfast in the breakfast room. Janie and Mark were so friendly, and the setting is a perfect place to get away. Highly recommend :-)
