Premier Inn St. Austell

The beans from the coffee machine make a good brew, and breakfast was good. We stayed a couple of nights and the rooms were clean, with comfy beds. They are quite high, though. I'm 6'4 and even I was only on tiptoe when sitting on the edge. Highly recommend.

We stayed a few nights at the end of September, and the place was really clean, even in the shared areas. The water was hot, the staff were so friendly, and for an older Premier Inn it's been kept in very good shape. The location works brilliantly for the Eden Project, St. Austell and Charlestown. Try the 1/2 of mussels at The Rebeillion for £22! There are also great walks behind the hotel, looking over Teverbryn Tip. A fresh coat of paint would help, and since it's an older Premier Inn there's no air conditioning. Fans are provided, but if you run hot at night I'd bring your own as well. Those are minor points, and I'd still stay here again without hesitation. Well done, team!

We were very disappointed by this six-night stay with my wife. Housekeeping was almost nonexistent and the room upkeep was poor. Requested towels weren't replaced, the beds weren't made and the floors weren't vacuumed. The bathroom extractor was full of hair, fluff and dirt, while the bath's non-slip area was grimy. When we'd agreed to have the room cleaned, someone had clearly been in, but all they did was empty the bins and remove the tea and coffee things, dirty cups and towels. None of that was replaced or replenished. The stay fell well below the standard I've had at this hotel before and at other Premier Inns.

The on-site restaurant served reasonably priced meals, and the staff were friendly. Our bed was comfortable, but room 27 was very noisy because the building's wooden floorboards make a lot of noise. We were fortunate to move to room 203. It was a bit of a walk, but worth it. The one other thing was being told we had to leave at 10.15 on Saturday night!
