27 The Terrace

The sea view from our room was breathtaking, and the breakfast menu was delicious. The staff were the friendliest part of the visit, and the service and cleanliness were excellent. I’m not sure whether that was because it was the off-season, but I thoroughly enjoyed my stay. It was also very convenient for the train and bus stations. I’d happily return.

We enjoyed it so much that we stayed an extra night, in a different room with a garden view that was still lovely. Our first room was spacious and clean, had everything we needed, and looked out over an amazing sea view. The staff were brilliant and very happy to help. Breakfast had lots to offer and kept us full for a day of walking. I’d definitely stay again.

The breakfast choices were plentiful and high quality, and the dining room was nicely laid out with a lovely view over the bay. The two receptionists and other staff were friendly and helpful from arrival to departure, in a genuine, down-to-earth way. Our room and ensuite were clean, spacious, and well equipped for either a short or longer stay. Would recommend.

The hotel service was first class, from checking in to breakfast, where a lovely young woman was there for anything we needed. We enjoyed the stay enough to return, though next time we’ll book upstairs now that we know the layout. Our room was in what could be called the basement. It was lovely inside, with a great shower over the bath and a comfortable bed. The small window opened level with a busy road, so we kept it closed because of the noise and fumes. It also got very warm, but at least we had the air conditioner on most of the time. The location is good, with a downhill walk to the main town area, harbour, cafes, and restaurants. The terrace has nine guest rooms.
